My yoga journey began 20 years ago when I registered for one of Holiday Johnson's yoga classes, as an elective, at Portland State University. All I knew about yoga was that it fit into my school schedule. Fast forward many years, through living in New York City and Madrid, Spain, eventually landing back in Portland, I continued to practice. My practice is my treat to myself, it's my solitude and my sanity. It grounds me and opens my eyes to all that is amazing and beautiful around me, including those that I see weekly when I teach.
I had always wanted to take my personal practice to the next level, but didn't feel I could with a young family. Fortunately a wonderful teacher I met in Sayulita, Mexico inspired me to take the next step. I yearned for the ability to teach something I love and am passionate about. I wanted to really learn about yoga beyond asana and I knew I wanted to dig in and dive deeper.
In 2013, I completed my 200 hour teacher training and have been teaching non-stop ever since. I am thrilled to continue learning and teaching a practice that I love. There are many teachers in my life who are great influences and inspirations, and I am honored to be a part of the incredible community we have in Portland.
When I am not on the mat, teaching, working out, running, or racing around with our two kids, my family and I love to get out of town and head to the beach, the mountains, camping or just ride our bikes around our great neighborhood.
